Idea Generator

Humor Writing Workshop

taught by Jiji Lee

November 15, 2-4 pm EST

On ZOOM

Coming up with an idea for a humor piece is like throwing spaghetti at a wall. But this workshop will be a lot more fun and only slightly less messy!

Here’s what to expect in this two-hour workshop:

  • Through in-class writing exercises, you will generate ideas for humor pieces that you can submit to places like McSweeney’s and The New Yorker’s Shouts and Murmurs.

  • Workshop your ideas and get feedback and joke pitches from the instructor and class.

  • Leave with brainstorming strategies and at least one new idea for a humor piece!

I’ll also share my favorite ways to find inspiration and get new ideas for humor pieces.

A little about your teacher:
